Underwater Cinematography Immersion Program

Now there are two great places to learn underwater filmmaking, videography, editing and post production the right way.  Emmy Award winning Underwater Cinematographer Frazier Nivens and award-winning shark wrangler Stuart Cove of Stuart Coves Dive Bahamas, based in Coral Harbour, Nassau, Bahamas.  Capt. Spencer Slate of Captain Slates Scuba Adventures in the beautiful Florida Keys will also offer the Underwater Cinematography Immersion Training.

Captain Spencer Slate and Capt. Slates Scuba Adventures is known for his Creature Feature encounters with his group of Green Moray Eels and the Shark Swim at Spanky’s reef giving you plenty of imaging opportunities to capture some amazing footage.   Frazier films with Captain Slate every Friday and Sunday on his Creature Feature Shark and Eel Encounters.

Frazier Nivens is a  former PADI Course Director and world renowned multiple Emmy™ and Telly™ Award Winning underwater filmmaker.  Frazier takes you beyond the normal underwater video courses. He will help you to achieve motion imaging that will be beautiful and colorful, creating a fully edited underwater work of art.  The program is open to all skill levels; Go Pro, DSLR, high definition video and RED Digital Cinema cameras. You should be comfortable while diving and have great buoyancy control prior to participating in this program for best results.

The Underwater Cinematography Immersion motion imaging training is what you need to know to film and edit your underwater footage and includes your classroom instruction, Stuart Cove’ s world famous “Shark Arena" or “Ray of Hope” wreck shark dive, “Creature Feature” eel and shark encounters and wreck dives daily with Frazier and hands on instruction in the beautiful crystal clear blue waters of the Bahamas or Florida Keys.  There is no better underwater motion imaging course available anywhere. Learn the tips and techniques from a professional that shoots underwater movies every day. Frazier produces television programming for Discovery Channel, Shark Week, Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, National Geographic, ABC, CBS, NBC, Food Network, History Channel, BBC, Granada TV and many more.

Frazier will take you beyond the basics and teach you what you really need to know to get great images with your existing camera system, or help you purchase and choose a great system to fit your needs prior to the program.  We will dive in depth into your own camera system, whether it be GoPro, DSLR, Video or RED Digital Cinema Ultra High Definition, we will teach you what you need to know to get the most out of your system. The Professional Underwater Cinematography Immersion Program courses consist of but may be customized to fit your particular needs but a minimum would consist of: 2-1/2 days of classroom instruction, the basics, how to use your specific camera system if you own one prior to beginning your training and 6-Open Water filming Dives with Frazier.  Powerpoint and Video presentations of examples of techniques.

1/2 to a full day of introduction in post production editing using the latest editing software, Adobe Premiere Pro CC2024, Adobe Media Encoder, Photoshop, After Effects, how to use Mogerts and video templates, add music and VoiceOver tracks and much more.   You will also edit your own dive video and output it to HD video movies during this course on one of Frazier's video editing stations in his 3-edit bay video suite.
